Fellowship of the Oriental Orthodox Youth at Aura 2025

An inspiring moment of unity unfolded during the OCYM Bi Annual Leaders Conference – AURA 2025, as youth representatives from the Coptic, Ethiopian, and Eritrean Orthodox Churches joined the gathering of the Indian Orthodox Church (UK,Europe and Africa Diocese). As sister churches within the Oriental Orthodox family, all sharing the same apostolic faith and tradition, this meeting marked a meaningful step in strengthening bonds among the younger generations of these ancient Churches.
The special session was presided over by His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Diocesan Metropolitan of Kunnamkulam and President of OCYM, with the blessings and support of His Grace Abraham Mar Stephanos, Diocesan Metropolitan of the UK, Europe, and Africa Diocese, and Abuna David, Priest St Mary & Archangel Michael Coptic Cathedral Solihull representing the Coptic Orthodox Church.
During the interactive exchange, youth from the different Churches shared their experiences, posed questions about each other’s faith practices, and reflected on their shared theological and spiritual heritage. The dialogue fostered mutual understanding and encouraged continued cooperation among the Oriental Orthodox youth in the region.
This moment of fellowship highlighted the beauty of shared faith and the call for collaboration in witnessing Orthodox life in the modern world — a living expression of the unity that binds the Oriental Orthodox Churches together.
The event concluded with an exchange of gifts symbolizing fraternity and unity in Christ between the sister Churches. In closing, Mr. Rajin V Poulose, OCYM General Secretary for the Diocese of UK, Europe, and Africa, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing hope that this fellowship would mark the beginning of deeper collaboration and continued dialogue among the youth of the Oriental Orthodox family.
